What causes the marginalization is not the morals alone, but the comparisons, usually degrading and suggests a xenophobic and nationalistic tone of sameness and otherness: “we” and “them.” These are stereotypes of “others,” those who identify with different social and economic currents. Infection of society and lifestyle seems to be a fear in those who hold prejudices based on stereotypes, the propaganda against people. There is an implied sense of difference wherever there exists masses of people from places from all across the globe with different customs, priorities and morals (especially in the United States). However, this does not imply hostility, but coexistence instead. Implying stereotypes and enforcing extraneous morals on the public causes the marginalizing of socials sets and this is counterproductive to a coexisting democracy.
